Governor AbdulRazaq’s Legacies, APC’s Victory in 2007By Sarafadeen Oladipo

As the countdown to the 2027 general elections begins, political conversations across Kwara State are increasingly shifting from campaign promises to one fundamental question: Who has genuinely delivered for the people?

For many Kwarans, the answer is unmistakable. Since assuming office in 2019, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has redefined governance through purposeful leadership, fiscal discipline, and people-oriented development. His administration has not merely governed; it has laid the foundation for a more prosperous, inclusive, and competitive Kwara.

History has consistently shown that great leaders are remembered not for the speeches they delivered but for the legacies they left behind. Across Kwara State today, those legacies are visible—in renewed roads, improved schools, modern healthcare facilities, youth empowerment initiatives, innovation-driven investments, urban renewal projects, and economic reforms that are reshaping the state’s future.

Governor AbdulRazaq’s vision has extended beyond the politics of the moment. Landmark projects such as the Innovation Hub, the International Conference Centre, the Garment Factory, the Sugar Film Factory, the Visual Arts Centre, extensive road networks, rural development projects, and strategic investments in agriculture and education reflect a leader determined to build institutions and infrastructure that will serve generations yet unborn.

Equally remarkable is his commitment to prudent financial management and transparent governance, restoring confidence in public institutions and ensuring that scarce resources are translated into visible development across the three senatorial districts.

Beyond infrastructure, Governor AbdulRazaq has invested in people. Thousands of young Kwarans have benefited from employment opportunities, entrepreneurship support, digital innovation programmes, educational interventions, and skills acquisition initiatives. Women have received greater inclusion in governance, while vulnerable citizens have benefited from social investment programmes designed to improve livelihoods and reduce poverty.

Perhaps one of his greatest achievements has been restoring hope in governance itself. Through humility, calm leadership, accessibility, and an unwavering commitment to service, Governor AbdulRazaq has strengthened the bond between government and the people, proving that public office can indeed be a platform for genuine development.

These achievements have given the All Progressives Congress (APC) an invaluable political advantage ahead of 2027. Rather than campaigning solely on promises, the party can confidently present tangible evidence of performance—projects that people can see, roads they drive on daily, schools where children now learn in better environments, hospitals delivering improved healthcare, and investments positioning Kwara for long-term economic growth.

It is this impressive record that many believe will significantly shape voter sentiment in the forthcoming elections.

For Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, widely regarded as one of the loyal and experienced leaders within the APC family, this performance provides a strong platform upon which to engage the electorate. As someone whose political journey has been defined by service, grassroots connection, and commitment to progressive ideals, many supporters believe he represents the continuity of the development agenda championed by Governor AbdulRazaq.

Across the state, APC candidates are expected to campaign on a message of continuity, stability, and sustained development. Their argument is likely to be simple yet compelling: the progress witnessed under Governor AbdulRazaq should not be interrupted but consolidated through the election of leaders who share the same vision and commitment.

Indeed, elections are ultimately decided by the people, and no outcome is guaranteed. Yet political goodwill is earned through performance, consistency, and public trust. By those measures, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has built a formidable legacy that many supporters believe will positively influence the electoral fortunes of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi and other APC candidates across Kwara State.

The 2019 elections ushered in a new era built on the demand for change. As 2027 approaches, the conversation has evolved from change to consolidation. For many Kwarans, the task ahead is to preserve the gains already made and ensure that the momentum of development continues.

Ultimately, the greatest campaign organisation is not made up of billboards or slogans but of completed projects, transformed communities, empowered citizens, and a population that can point to visible improvements in their daily lives. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has built that campaign through governance.

If the electorate chooses continuity over uncertainty, many observers believe the Governor’s enduring legacies will remain the APC’s most persuasive campaign message—one capable of inspiring confidence in Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi and other APC candidates as they seek the people’s mandate in 2027.

In the end, while manifestos may inspire hope, it is performance that earns trust. And in Kwara today, many supporters contend that Governor AbdulRazaq’s performance has written a compelling story—one they hope the people will choose to continue through the election of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi and every APC candidate when the ballots are cast in 2027.
