Jagunmolu of Igbomina Land encourages community self help projects

…as Dynamic-Peoples-Club commissions farm market at Okeya-Ipo

The need for communities to embark on self help project that will attract economic and social development to their domain has been emphasized.

Founder of Al-Hikmah University and the Asiwaju of Igbomina Land, Chief Abdulraheem Oladimeji made this call during the inauguration of the Okeya-Ipo farm market, in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Chief Oladimeji described markets as catalyst for growth, development and effective tool for poverty eradication if properly harnessed by those residing wherever they are located.

He recalled how God had used him to be the brain behind setting up of markets within and outside Kwara State which are now serving as economic hub.

The Baba-Oba of Offa town, who made handsome financial donation for construction of structures in the market commended the Dynamic Peoples Club of Okeya-Ipo for initiating the project.

Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, Mr Jide Oyinloye said that the establishment of the Farm Market Okeya-Ipo is inline with the State Government plan to set up markets at strategic locations in local government areas.

He assured the people of Okeya-Ipo that they will be given required support by the government.

Earlier in a welcome address, the President of Dynamic Peoples Club, Okeya-Ipo, Alhaji Ismaila Bello explained that the association was aware that the project is capital intensive, but summoned the courage to venture into it due to the huge investment potential for the community and its environs and Kwara State as a whole.

Alhaji Bello said Okeya-Ipo is blessed with arable land which is already being taken advantage of by government and private sectors.

He expressed appreciation to Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq for his support and called for more synergy in the area of infrastructure especially the Ajase-Ipo Okeya-Ipo-Igbaja road which are becoming deplorable.

In a goodwill message, the Oludopo of
Okeya-Ipo, Oba Saheed Giwa-Opadoye, who was elated and short of words, prayed for the initiators of the farm market and all those who honored the community financially and morally towards the project.

The event was attended by sons and daughters of Okeya-Ipo community from far and wide, royal fathers such as Aala of Ilala, Oba Abdulfatai Oladoge, Oloyopo of Egi Oyo-Ipo, Oba Abdulwahab Junaid, the Elese of Igbaja Oba Awuni Arepo represented by Chief Agbaja of Igbaja, the Vice Chancellor, Al-Hikmah University, Professor Noah Yusuf among others.
