A bill proposing the establishment of the Kwara State University of Education today passed first reading at the state House of Assembly.
If enacted into law, the bill will provide for the establishment of training and teaching institutions in all aspects of education and other relevant fields of applied learning, with a focus on meeting the needs of teacher education development in the state.
Prior to its passage, the bill was presented by the House Leader and member representing Ilorin Central Constituency, Hon. Abdulkadir Oba Magaji.
The Clerk of the House, Alhaji Abdulkareem Olayiwola read the Bill for the first time.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi subsequently referred the bill to the House Committee on Education for further legislative action in preparation for its second reading.
