The APC candidate of Irepodun Local Government in the just concluded local governments elections in Kwara State, Hon. Yakubu Azeez has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the polls.
Azeez, who spoke with the press after casting his vote in Omu-Aran, the capital of the local government, commended the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) for conducting what he described as credible, peaceful and fair election.
According to him, the electoral commission has improved greatly in their operations saying all political parties that participated in the poll were equally and fairly treated.
He further commended the security operatives for ensuring peace and orderliness across the polling units particularly in Omu-Aran, the Irepodun Local Government headquarters.
He however urged the people of Irepodun to support whoever wins saying they should first remember that they’re one body before clinching to different political groups.
He said, “Omu Aran believes more in onenes and what is demonstrated at the various polling units today is that spirit, they voted for their own”.
