…no government in Nigeria embodies fairness, balance as much as Kwara – Ajakaye

Kwara State Governor and Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq yesterday bagged the Champion of Women Equity award.

This recognition celebrates his commitment to gender equity, highlighted by the number of women appointed to his cabinet surpassing other governors in the federation.

The award was organized by the Sardauna Ngeri Ilorin Women Association, convened by the member representing Ilorin South Constituency, Hon. Maryam Yusuf Aladi.

Speaking after receiving the award on behalf of the governor, the Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye said, no government in Nigeria embodies fairness and balance as much as the Kwara State government

“The governor is a man who believes in equity, he is a man who believes that where decisions are being made, every segment of the society should be properly represented, this is another recognition and we are proud of that.

“His Excellency is glad that people are taking note of his intentional attempt to ensure that every segment of the society is given its dues.

“The good thing about having a balanced and fair representation of every segment is that, you would have fair and balanced decision making, when you get different perspectives, when you listen to all the sides before decisions are made, there is that tendency for you to make a balanced and fair decision and when fair decisions are made, the society progresses, development is even, and everybody is happy.

“When everybody is happy, you have fewer instances of public disturbances because everybody feels recognized and acknowledged.

“Our women are acknowledged and recognized the same way our men are recognized, the same way people living with disabilities are recognized in our administration is the same way young people are recognized.

“So there is not a single government in this country that is as fair and balanced, that is properly recognized and represented like the government of Kwara State under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

“And that’s why he’s been recognized here again today, like I said, there have been several such recognitions and we are glad that, that is being done,”he said.

Earlier in her address, the convener, Hon. Maryam Yusuf Aladi, said her love for Gov AbdulRazaq is pure because his respect for women is unprecedented.

“The governor loves, acknowledges and recognizes women, and puts us in position, that’s why I deemed it fit to name an association that will outlast his tenure in his name

“There is no umrah that I won’t pray for him because he’s our benefactor and the brain behind all achievements in Kwara.”

She said it’s not about Aladi but about Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who is the one behind her success in Ilorin South and beyond.

Highlight of the program was the inauguration of the association with prayers for its continued existence and success for Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq.
