• Dedictates Awards To Victims Of Gunmen Attacks In Ekiti Local Government Area
In a grand recognition of outstanding leadership and commitment to grassroots development, the Executive Chairman of Ekiti Local Government Council, Honourable Awelewa Olawale Gabriel, was conferred with two prestigious awards at the African Grassroot Good Governance (3G) Leadership Summit 2025.
In a press statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairman, Prince Dada Sunday, stated that the summit, which was organized by AfricanStride International Media Group (ASIMGROUP) in partnership with Radio Nigeria, brought together top government officials, policymakers, and leaders from across Africa to recognize and celebrate exceptional leadership in governance.
Honourable Awelewa received the awards for Excellent Grassroot Leadership as the Outstanding Mayor on Rural Infrastructure in Nigeria, 2025, and Best Local Government Chairman in Northern Nigeria, 2025. The awards are a testament to his tireless efforts in driving positive change and development in Ekiti Local Government Council, Kwara State.
While receiving the awards, Honourable Awelewa, who was represented at the event, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for recognizing his administration’s performance in the last one year. “I am humbled by this recognition, and I dedicate these awards to the people of Ekiti Local Government Council, particularly the victims of recent gunmen attacks in the area,” he said.
The Ekiti Local Government Chairman also commended the Kwara State Governor for providing an enabling environment for council chairmen to operate without hindrance. “The governor’s leadership has been a shining example, and we are grateful for his support,” Honourable Awelewa said.
