The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon. Ajibola Ayoola, has disowned a group claiming to be “APC Progressive Stakeholders” as usurpers, stating the party in Ekiti Local Government Area was not aware of any Stakeholders’ meeting at the described venue, neither did anyone has the authority of the chairman to call for any of such meeting, hence, the individuals and group in the assemblage are not recognized by the party.
Honourabe Ayoola described the group’s gathering as an aberration, saying it was convened out of rebelliousness to the party’s leadership and structure, as a gathering without the presence of the local government party chairman or his authorized Exco members, no ward Exco chairman, no appointed or elected party leader in attendance cannot be described as gathering of party’s stakeholders.
The party chairman, who frowned at the group for impersonating it’s party’s structure, lamented the embarrassing fusion of even known opposition elements as APC stakeholders. He warned that any group meeting in the name of APC Ekiti LGA without his knowledge or presence will be treated as rebels and face disciplinary measures for impersonation.
“The APC in Ekiti Local Government Area remains under my leadership, and I am the only authority who can call for meetings of caucus, stakeholders, and party members,” Ayoola stated.
The group, claiming to be APC stakeholders, had issued a statement listing some APC leaders, including Chief Omogbenle Adeyemi, Otunba Taiwo Joseph, and others, including some known PDP elements, as attendees of a so called ‘consultative engagement’ dubbed ” Ekiti LGA APC Stakeholders’ Meeting”, which they claimed was aimed at strengthening unity and electoral preparedness ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Ayoola stated that the All Progressive Congress, APC as a political party has not endorsed any individual for any position, as the party under his leadership in Ekiti Local Government Area is totally loyal to the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, as the leader of the party in Kwara State, so therefore, any gathering in the name of the All Progressive Congress APC, Ekiti LGA without the presence or knowledge of himself as the chairman of the party in Ekiti Local Government is an aberration and any form of endorsement of an aspirant or any individual is a rebellion against the leadership of the party in the state, hence any group of party members who indulge in such will be treated as renegades within the party, who will be made to face disciplinary measures, for impersonation of party’s structure.
He therefore advised members of the party and the general public to disregard the group of renegades and usurpers as the All Progressive Congress APC in Ekiti Local Government Area remains under his leadership, and he remains the only authority who can call for meeting of either caucus, stakeholders and for the general party members.
Ayoola advised party members and the public to disregard the group, emphasizing that they are not recognized by the APC Ekiti LGA.
