The Kwara State Coordinator of the National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria (NACLFON), Bishop David Omorinoye, has challenged the widespread belief that politics is a “dirty game,” asserting instead that politics should be viewed as a ministry.
The Coordinator further expressed the forum’s readiness to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
Bishop Omorinoye made these remarks at the award presentation and the launch of a N70 million fundraising initiative aimed at constructing an ultra-modern NACLFON office and acquiring a Hummer Bus for the forum.
He emphasized that Christians have historically displayed political apathy, which has adversely affected their influence in political matters.
Bishop Omorinoye highlighted the need for Christians to actively participate in politics to advance their interests and contribute to the broader community.
According to him, politics should be regarded as an institution in which everyone, including Christians, ought to engage. He credited the vision for this initiative to the national coordinator, Professor Peter Abraham, who advocates for Christian unity.
In his address, Bishop Omorinoye stated, “It is with great pleasure that I, as the State Coordinator of the National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria (NACLFON), extend a warm welcome to each of you to today’s award program and the launch of a seventy million Naira fundraising campaign for a NACLFON office and procurement of a Hummer Bus.
“Today, we gather to celebrate outstanding individuals and organizations that have shown unwavering commitment to the socio-political development of our beloved Kwara State and beyond.
“This event is not solely about medals and certificates but about recognizing hard work, dedication, and notable achievements. These awardees have set new standards of excellence in their respective fields, and they are leaders to be proud of.
“As a forum, NACLFON is dedicated to promoting good governance, accountability, and social justice. We are honored to have esteemed guests who share our vision of supporting our great party, APC, both in Kwara State and across Nigeria. Your presence underscores the significance of this occasion.
“Let us come together to recognize and applaud the efforts of our awardees and reaffirm our collective commitment to building a brighter future for Kwara State,” he concluded.
Bishop Omorinoye explained that the Forum is committed to promoting good governance, accountability and social justice.
Also speaking the Forum Vice Chairman, Kwara South, Pastor David Bamidele called on the people to collect their permanent voter’s card and participate actively in politics.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, the Chairman of Isin Local Government Area of the state, Hon. Benjamin Jolayemi, applauded the credible performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Hon. Jolayemi, expressed his gratitude to the forum for the honor, noting that the forum is familiar to him, and he has been a steadfast supporter from the outset.
