The last arraignment of Abdulazeez Adegbola popularly known as Tani Olohun at the Upper Area Court 1 in Ilorin revealed that the controversial traditionalist may soon be granted bail.

This development was coming on the heels of a motion for bail filed by a Lagos based legal practitioner hired by an association, ‘Yoruba Lesin’, Barrister Oluwole Olalekan.
The court, in its response to the bail application, fixed 5th September to determine whether the controversial traditionalist will be released to continue his trial on bail.
Tani-Oloun were dragged together with his cohort, Chief Ademole Olawoore, the Oluwo Nla of Tede before Honourable Sunday Adeniyi amidst tight security for the offence of Conspiracy, Disturbance of Public Peace, Criminal Defamation of Character, Intentional Insult with intent to provoke Breach of Peace contrary to the law
The Direct Complaint was filed by Barrister Abolaji Adisa on behalf of his client, one Alfa Okutagidi accusing Tani Olohun and Oluwo Nla of Tede of making malicious videos on social media.
The duo claimed that Okutagidi’s late father was a notorious Islamic scholar who had shrine in his life time, saying they also helped the Islamic scholar’s successor to seek spiritual assistance from Osun deity for his wife to conceive and give birth.
Recalled that the first defendant, Tani Olohun, was dragged to a Magistrate court on August 17th 2023 for the same offence and was subsequently remanded for 50 days.
Barrister Oluwole Olalekan however challenged the court over the Direct Complaint filed by Barrister Abolaji Adisa with a Preliminary Objection arguing that it is an Abuse of Court Process by arraingning a suspect in two different courts on same offense.
He also filed a Motion for Bail to enable the defendants gain freedom and be coming from home for the case
Honourable Sunday Adeniyi in his ruling adjourned the case till 4th and 5th September, 2023 to determine the Preliminary Objection and the Motion for Bail respectively as moved by the defendants’ counsel.
