In less than 24 hours, primaries for the chairmanship positions across the sixteen Local Government Areas in Kwara State will be conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This development, has subjected many of the aspirants into intensifying effort through politicking, permutations towards becoming the party flag bearers.
For the Ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), the game may take a dramatic twist following the large number of aspirates justling for the seat.
This is in the case of Ilorin West local government where over 20 candidate have reportedly signified interests and ready to battle in the primaries coming up tomorrow.
People have however began rooting for Hon. Makanjuola Lanre Darosa, a prominent Real Estate figure in Ilorin whose wealth has become what many benefit from.
According to some political pundits, the candidature of Darosa is sellable considering his youthful age and his philanthropic gesture that has made him the cynosure of all in the state.
According to reports, Darosa takes joy in promoting the course of education, lifting the downtrodden from the junks and also helping the ageing women in the society.
From January till date, Darosa has shared no fewer than 30 thousand exercise books, paid Jamb forms for students who are financially incapacitated.
Worthy of not is that Darosa is the son of late Alhaji Makanjuola Mobolaji, a surveyor, who was nicknamed Darosa because of his careless way on spending for the people who are in need.
From past times, Ilorin West has remained strong council with largest number of electorates who will battle fiercely to place their candidates on the seat considering the caliber of politicians the council has produced.
Ilorin West is in Kwara Central part of Kwara State harbouring 12 wards, also comprising Magaji Ngeri and Alanamu/Ajikobi constituency. Magaji Ngeri has 5wards, Alanamu/Ajikobi has 7 wards.
Going by the zoning arrangement, the next council chairman is to come from Alanamu/Ajikobi considering the fact that the other constituency have had their shares with the immediate past Transition Implementation Committee chairman, Hon. Abdulgafar Tosho who occupied the seat for about 4 years.
This medium gathered that the game will remain among 7 wards; Alanamu/Ajikobi, Oju-Ekun Sarumi, Ogidi, Oloje and Mbandawaki.
