….As IWF Celebrates Members’ Academic Achievements, Honours Four New Professors

A renowned Islamic scholar, Shaikh Yusuf Kolawole Jumuah, JAMB Registrar Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, and Prof. Yusuf Ola-Olu Ali SAN, and the Islamic Welfare Foundation, have been honoured with the Award of Excellence in Humanitarian and Islamic Service by the National Association of the Deaf in Nigeria ( NADN ).

The awards, presented at the IWF Secretariat in Ilorin, during a special Ramadan Tafsir session, celebrated the recipients’ service in the path of Allah and outstanding support for people with special needs. The IWF Kwara State Chapter was also recognised for its efforts in integrating individuals with special needs into its Islamic activities and ensuring their wellbeing with essential support.

Earlier in his sermon at the Tafsir, Sheik Jumuah enjoined Muslim to be God fearing and adhere strictly to the teaching of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH ) for them to earn the mercy and reward of Allah both on earth and heaven.

The revered Islamic scholar emphasised that any country that yearn for a peaceful and prosperous society must endeavour to uphold the tenets of Islam and embrace the Islamic legal principles as a means of judicial system to ensure justice and fairness for all section of citizens.

He called for holistic approach in redeeming Nigerian nation through the application of teachings of Islam in daily endeavours of the people, offering prayer that may Allah show the nation more mercy.

Meanwhile, at the event, Prof. Oloyede was represented by his wife, Alhaja Oloyede, While Alhaji Kehinde Eleja SAN graced the suspicious ceremony on behalf of Prof.Ali SAN. While expressing gratitude at the instance of other award recipients, Ali appreciated NADN for the recognition, noting that the award serves as a motivation to further service to Allah and humanity.

Speaking at the event, the National Ameer of the Association of Deaf Muslims in Nigeria, Alhaji Sulaiman Saka Dagbo, appealed for greater support from IWF and other organisations to ensure inclusivity for deaf Muslims.

“We need attention and support to ensure that deaf Muslims are not left behind. We urge well-meaning Muslims to support our cause and prevent our members from being enticed by other religions,” he stated.

Similarly, IWF, Kwara chapter has celebrated the career progression and academic achievements of its members, honouring four reputable scholars for their recent attainment of professorship. The honourees include, Prof. Abdullateef Oladimeji , Prof. Uthman Abdullateef, Prof. Rafiu O. Yusuf, and Prof. Abdulkareem Oloyede ( son of JAMB Registrar).

Speaking at the event, IWF State Coordinator, Hon. Is’haq Sabi, highlighted the significance of recognising academic excellence, stating that more members would be honoured in future programmes of the foundation.

“We are delighted to honour these distinguished members who have achieved professorship. This is just the beginning of our celebration of academic excellence, and we look forward to recognising more members in the future,” said Hon. Sabi.

Appreciating the honour on behalf of other recipients, Prof. Oladimeji, former registrar and deputy Vice Chancellor of Al – Hikima University, Ilorin, expressed gratitude to IWF for the remarkable recognition accorded them, praying that may Allah continue to elevate members and the foundation.

“We are honoured to receive this recognition, and I am confident that more members of the IWF will attain professorship and greatness in our various walks of life by the special grace of Allah,” he subligate.

In their seperate remarks during the ceremony, Imam AbdulMumeen Afodun encouraged members to strive for excellence in promoting Islam and to ensure that their children follow in their footsteps, while deputy coordinator of IWF emphasised the importance of perseverance, good deeds and prayed for members success in all human endeavours.

Prof. Kolawole Yusuf, National Coordinator, IWF, Dr Kalejaye Hassan; Kwara State Coordinator, IWF, Hon. Is’haq Muhammed Sabi; Deputy Coordinator, IWF, Professor Rauf Olasunkanmi; Director, Water Quality Control and Assurance, Kwara State Water Corporation, Dr AbdulRahaman Babatunde.

“The ceremony marked a significant milestone in IWF’s commitment to academic achievement, humanitarian service and Islam”, cross section of participants at the historic occasion acknowledged.
