During the event, the Baale of Kajola Eleyin Community, Chief Emmanuel Olayiwola Ibiwoye, extended profound thanks to the foundation, stating that the water project has provided much needed relief to the residents.

He remarked, “This community has endured a lack of water for the past 60 years. To fetch water, we had to undertake long treks and ascend hills to reach the river.

“However, I recently received a call that a foundation intended to construct a borehole on our land. Initially, I was skeptical, as politicians have consistently promised us water, yet none have fulfilled their promises.

“To our surprise, this organization commenced the project and completed it in a short period.

“And today, we have a borehole project powered by a solar system, eliminating the need for physical stress or financial commitment before pumping and accessing water in our homes.

“This initiative is truly commendable, and we pray for the continued growth and prosperity of the foundation, along with divine blessings and provision.”

Representing the women, Grace Joseph, who has resided in the community for over twenty years without access to potable water, expressed her delight at witnessing the unveiling of such a laudable project.

She noted that previously, after returning from their farms each day, they would embark on another journey to fetch water.

With a smile on her face, Grace Joseph remarked that they now had access to clean water, marking the end of the era of using contaminated sources.

The Chairman of Isin Local Government, Hon. Benjamin Lanre Jolayemi, subsequently commissioned the project for public use.

Hon. Jolayemi stated that while the government had plans to construct a borehole for the community, he was pleased that the Lafia Grace Foundation for Women and Youth Empowerment had taken the initiative, allowing the government to focus on other essential social amenities.

The project’s Supervisor, Mr. John Adewoye, on behalf of the Chairperson of the foundation, Lady Grace Abogunrin, formally handed over the tools and manual for the borehole to the Chairman to ensure proper maintenance of the water project.
