An High Court, sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, has arraigned one Fatai Olasunkanmi Bello who allegedly paraded himself as Olokanle of Okanle, a community in Ifelodun Local Government area of the State.

Bello was dragged before Justice AbdulQuadri Sofiat Tokunbo on two-count charge by the people of Kwara State through the office of the Ministry of Justice.
Bello, according to the charges against him, was parading himself as the Chief Baale and the Head of Okanle Kingdom without any approval from Governor or any appointing authority, thereby causing public disturbance in the community.
The prosecution team, headed by the Director of Public Prosecution, Barrister Ayoola Akande, informed the court that the case is for arraignment, requesting that the charges be read to the defendant (Bello).
The defendant, in his response, pleaded not guilty while his counsel, Barrister O.J David moved for his bail, informing the court that his client is a law abiding citizen who will not jump bail adding his sureties who stood for him at the Magistrate Court are in court to do same.
The Court, in its short ruling, admitted the defendant to bail and adjourned the case to 17th of January, 2024.
