The Kwara State Police Command has commissioned the new Police Hospital in Offa, Offa Local Government Area of the state.
Commissioning the facility, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, said the choice of Offa was deliberate because of the town’s well-organized security architecture, which has impressed the command.
CP Ojo thanked the Olofa of Offa for his role in maintaining peace in Offa and its neighbouring communities, noting that the hospital will serve both police personnel and the general public.
He stated that the hospital is equipped with the necessary medical equipment and staffed with qualified doctors and nurses to ensure standard health service delivery.
The CP mentioned that the hospital will consistently address emergency situations without requiring a deposit, in an effort to save lives.
In his remarks, the Olofa of Offa, His Royal Majesty Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, commended CP Ojo for his exceptional performance since assuming office as Commissioner of Police in Kwara State.
“Since the assumption of CP Ojo, he has been doing exceptionally well and must be commended. Each time Offa brings a case to the commissioner in Ilorin, he always treats it very well and I pray he attains the rank of Inspector-General of Police,” the monarch said.
The Olofa described the location of the hospital beside Owode Market as strategic, saying it will benefit not only police officers but also traders and residents.
“This is the first of its kind in Kwara Police and I advise the police to maintain it very well. It is a very good initiative. The location is very good as it’s beside the Owode Market because it will not serve only the Police but the traders and residents as well,” he stated.
Oba Gbadamosi thanked the CP for siting such a laudable project in Offa and appreciated the command for its efforts in securing Kwara State, expressing confidence that the police will win the war against banditry.
He urged the police to ensure proper maintenance of the facility to sustain its benefits to the community.
Also present at the occasion is the local government Chairman of the local government, Hon. Olatunji Omituntun, the Chiefs of Offa and other dignitaries.
