Esinrogunjo appears in court again for alleged rape of minor

The Kwara State High Court has once again arraigned Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on charges related to alleged sexual molestation.

It is noteworthy that Esinrogunjo was recently convicted and sentenced to nine months imprisonment for disturbing public peace and obstructing law enforcement officers in the execution of their duties.

During the resumed hearing, the lead prosecution counsel, who also serves as the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Mr. Ayoola Muhammed Akande, submitted an application for the admissibility of an amended charge.

The defendant’s counsel, Barrister Oyeyipo, informed the court of the need for additional time to review the amended charge and prepare a response.

He requested the court to grant a new date for adjournment to allow for a thorough examination of the application.

Subsequently, the presiding judge, Justice Funsho Lawal, adjourned the case to April 21, 2026.
